Sussex Cricket Museum was saddened to hear of the death of Tony Pigott, on Sunday 1 February at the age of the 67, in Tunbridge Wells following a heart attack.

Sad News - John Backham (died 6th October 2025)
John was a good friend of the Museum and was responsible for much of the picture framing during the last twenty years. He also carried out framing for many of the major galleries in Sussex and beyond.
Our thoughts are with his wife, Sheila and members of his family.
Cricket Exhibition: The Cricket Legacy of Sheffield Park.
THE EXHIBITION CAN NOW BE VIEWED AT THE BLUEBELL RAILWAY MUSEUM AT SHEFFIELD PARK STATION.
A new exhibition exploring how the 3rd Earl of Sheffield’s love for cricket shaped the games’s local and international history, from funding and accompanying the England cricket team to Australia, to donating money for the iconic Sheffield Shield.
County Cricket Quizzes
Each championship game and One Day Cup game played at Hove this summer will feature a quiz based on the history of the matches between Sussex and their opponents. Click here for the questions and answers for each quiz.
The Museum Opening
The museum was opened this year by Adrian Harms, BBC Sussex and BBC Surrey cricket commentator and the voice of Sussex cricket. In front of an audience of over 100 and to cries of ‘more BBC cuts’, Adrian cut the tape declaring the museum and the new exhibits open.
